Our state budget is due in less than a month.

Lawmakers say they are cautiously optimistic that we won’t see another impasse like last year.

Democratic State Representative Flo Fabrizio says the house has been making significant progress on the 2016-2017 State Budget.

Fabrizio says both republicans and democrats have recognized that there is a structural deficit in Pennsylvania. He says that is helping them move forward bipartisan fashion.

Fabrizio says the goal of the budget is to fix the structural deficit, fund schools and pay bills. He says it’s that simple.

Lawmakers go back into session on June 6 in Harrisburg.

The state budget is due June 30.
