LCB awards PA wine industry with $1 million for nine projects

Local News

Pennsylvania’s wine industry is getting some help from the commonwealth.

The Liquor Control Board is awarding grants totaling $1 million dollars for nine projects.  That money will be used to pay for research and increase production of Pennsylvania made wines.

One example is a research project on the spotted lanternfly, an invasive species now threatening the state’s $4.8 billion wine industry.  More than half of the grant money will be used for a marketing campaign.
