A state board has ruled that the temporary suspension of the medical license of Dr. Anthony Letizio should continue.
The Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine made the decision, saying that enough evidence exists to continue the suspension while the State Attorney General’s office continues to weigh any criminal charges.
Letizio has been investigated for allegedly mis-prescribing drugs to patients and even himself and for using staff members to forge his signature on prescriptions.
A chief investigator in the case and Dr. Letizio’s former office managers were the only witnesses in the hearing, although prosecutors also entered a number of records and other evidence.
The suspension will continue for another six months unless an agreement is reached by the two sides. Dr. Letizio’s State Street office has been closed since the temporary suspension has been in place.
