ERIE, Pa. — The job hunt can be an exhaustive process. It can be particularly challenging for those with disabilities or who are differently-abled. But a new business is giving a young man a chance.
One local boy now has a job after a position and a business was created for him.
Denny’s Clothing Store is a new addition to Erie selling both new and used clothes. The business, located 3545 W. 12th St., opened in November 2016 with a mission: provide the best care for their children.
The owners moved their family from Cleveland to Erie so that 16-year-old Denny Orozco could access services at the Barber National Institute.
Denny lives with autism and obsessive compulsive disorder. The stress can make daily tasks feel like hurdles.
Because of his conditions, it was hard to find job training. But today he’s earning money and learning to cope with stress.
Some of his duties include working the checkout desk and merchandising, and it’s all being done at a store that carries his name.
