Local business to close after 56 years of serving Erie

Local News

After decades of serving Erie, the king of diamonds is retiring.  Fisher Jewelers at 10th and State Street has announced its closing at the end of the summer.

The locally owned store has offered fine jewelry to the greater Erie area for the past 56 years.  The staff, emotional about the closing, understands the owner, Herb Rubenfields’ decision to retire.  Elaine Kolski, Manager of Fisher Jewelers, says, “we’ve been getting a big response, people just can’t believe that fisher jewelers that has been around in downtown Erie for so long is going out of business, but they are of age and you gotta respect that….it’s about time they go to Florida and spend time with their family.”

The store is closing in September, they have yet to set an exact date.
