As Valentine’s Day approaches, the folks over at Pulakos Chocolates are working hard to get you those chocolate covered strawberries.
“There’s a lot of people who come back year after year and buy their sweethearts their Valentine’s Day gifts here, but it means a lot to us that our local families shop at our local store,” said Alicia Boyd, manager at Pulakos chocolate.
Boyd says this has been the busiest day before Valentine’s Day that they’ve ever had. “We already sold about 600 dozen strawberries and we sold a lot of hearts, we filled a lot of hearts for people,” Boyd added.
The employees at Pulakos say they can crank out about 170 chocolate strawberries per hour.
Meanwhile over at Allburn Florist, they were busy wrapping up bundles of flowers for Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s Day, it’s a month in planning, but the business comes the day before, two days before and the day of,” said Melissa Roberts.
Roberts says despite the harsh weather outside, they have the are all ready to deliver flowers on the day of love. “Drivers, hoppers which are the kids that get in and out of the car running back and fourth ready to go,” said Roberts.
The Pulakos on Parade will have extended hours for Valentine’s Day and will be closing at 7 pm.
