Local realtors are standing with state leaders in support of a Pennsylvania bill. The House Urban Affairs Committee passed Representative Ryan Bizzarro’s first-time home buyers bill.
The bill would let eligible candidates open special savings accounts and use state tax deductions to help pay for expenses like down payments or closing costs. Marsha Marsh realtors visited the Capitol to show their support for the bill.
Owner Marsha Marsh says the legislation will help tackle the blight problem locally, as well. “Some of these buyers will purchase these properties that might be blighted as a first-time buyer because they’re low and then they can increase the value by putting some improvements to the property. And this first-time home buyer program helps them with cash to close.”
The Marsha Marsh group was joined by more than 100 realtors in Harrisburg urging legislators to support the bill.
