Local Shared Gaming Revenue Decision Deadline Looms

Local News

ERIE, Pa – The second deadline for the expansion of the local shared gaming revenue is looming.

As May 26th quickly approaches, we’re told legislatures are hard at work trying to figure out a compromise.
ECGRA Executive Direction, Perry Wood, says a lot of things are complicating the issue, like the legalization of internet gaming and video game terminals.
However, he says, the Gaming Oversight Committee’s visit to Erie in March made a lasting impression.
“Folks from Harrisburg are still talking about that trip. So, clearly we got through that it’s important that Erie County has these funds, that we’re using them wisely.”
Both Wood and Representative Pat Harkins say they are “optimistic.”
