Volunteers across the world got involved in their communities for Global Youth Service Day, and local teens did their part too.
Dozens of volunteers from Harborcreek and Fairview gathered in the city this morning.
The teens set out to beautify an Erie neighborhood, 11th and Wallace Street.
They built raised gardens, picked weeks and planted flowers.
The volunteers say it’s important they do they their part to make sure everyone can take pride in their neighborhoods.
Students in Conneautville also participated in Global Youth Service Day.
They cleaned up Lord Mason Memorial Park and other borough properties.
