A man accused of starting a building on fire will likely need a competency evaluation before his case moves forward.
66-year-old Stephen Dufala had a preliminary hearing scheduled for this morning. He’s charged with arson for a fire at Friendship Apartments last month. The fire was reported in a room on the 6th floor of the apartment building.
Two people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Dufala faces several charges including aggravated assault risking catastrophe. His preliminary hearing will likely not be rescheduled until his competency evaluation is complete.
