The man allegedly responsible for a deadly crash in February of 2018 has been charged in the case.
Pennsylvania State Police investigated the head-on collision in Elk Creek Township that claimed 62-year-old Girard Resident James Papson’s life. The accident was reported around 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 13th on Route 6N, just east of Ivarea Road.
Police say a car driven by Brandon Guianen, 24, tried to pass on the hill, causing the head-on collision. Guianen and a passenger were flown to UPMC Hamot by helicopter with serious injuries.
Guianen was released on a $50,000 bond and awaits a preliminary hearing.
