An Erie resident is heading to trial after police accuse him of attacking a man with a knife and a hammer.
40-year-old Luther Barnett was in Erie County Court. Investigators say he went into another man’s home and demanded money, threatening the resident with a knife. He also allegedly hit the victim in the back with a hammer. The victim suffered severe injuries.
This afternoon, Barnett waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Several charges are held for trial, including aggravated assault and robbery.
