Man arrested after suspected meth lab was found in Meadville homeless shelter

MEADVILLE, Pa. — The building manager of a Meadville homeless shelter was arrested after police uncovered a suspected meth lab inside the building.

Jerry Alan Whitman, 50, was arrested and charged with operating a methamphetamine lab, among other charges, after Meadville police responded to a call at St. James Haven on Walnut Street.

The program director told police he feared the building manager was running a meth lab inside.

Whitman is being held in the Crawford County Correctional facility.
