ERIE, Pa. — An Erie man was given a long prison sentence for abusing a 3-year-old child.
Brandon Bridges was sentenced Monday morning to six to 13 years in prison on charges of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
Charges were filed against Bridges and the mother, Nicole Lippert, after the child was brought to Saint Vincent Hospital unresponsive with severe injuries in January 2016. The boy was in the hospital for two weeks undergoing multiple surgeries.
Bridges reportedly admitted to punching the child.
Judge John Mead called the sentencing a harsh punishment for the crime.
