Man charged with robbing Dee’s Cigar Store headed to trial

Local News

ERIE, Pa. – A man charged with robbing Dee’s Cigar Store in August is head to trial, but will have an attempted robbery charged dropped after his preliminary hearing Wednesday.

Nahmar Green, 20, is charged with robbery after entering the store, 1705 State St., on Aug. 17 with a “Scream” mask and pointed a toy gun at the store owner and demanded cash.

Police said Green fled the store on foot when the store’s owner, Frank Adiutori, 66, pursued Green and shot at him with a handgun.

Green was not hit by gunfire and police charged Adiutori with reckless endangerment.

Judge Paul Urbaniak dropped an attempted robbery charged after police said he tried rob the store a day prior to the Aug. 17 incident.

The charged was dropped because Urbaniak said there was not enough evidence to prove that charge.

Green is also facing charges that he robbed the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Buffalo Road on Aug. 7.
