An elderly veteran found buried in a shallow grave in an Erie backyard will soon be laid to rest with full military honors.
85-year-old Vincent Force was found in a shallow grave behind 229 West 5th Street in July. VFW Post 470 has claimed the remains and members are working on a full military burial with honors.
Force served in Korea for nearly two years in the mid-50’s. Post 470 Commander George Tanner telling Action News that a number of VFW’s want to participate in the service, and efforts are underway to bring plans together soon.
Two people described as Force’s in-home caregivers are being charged with a number of crimes.
