Man gets felony charge dropped in fatal hit and run case

Local News

A North East man accused of striking and killing a man while driving gets a felony charge dropped.

28-year-old Logan Collins allegedly hit and killed 50-year-old Donald Lonyo back in February in Harborcreek Township. During Collins’ pre-liminary hearing on Tuesday, the judge dismissed three charges which were homicide by vehicle, aggravated assault by vehicle, as well as involuntary manslaughter.  Collins’ lawyer argued for those charges to be dropped of he said the district attorney’s office failed to prove that collins acted in a reckless manner.

Collins will be heading to trail on charges that include accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly license.
