ERIE, Pa. — A man was taken to UPMC Hamot for surgery after being shot in the chest early Tuesday morning.
The victim, who is believed to be in his 20s, told police he was robbed at gunpoint by two men before being shot in the chest near East 27th and Elm streets around 1 a.m.
Police said the victim was conscious when they arrived on scene and was able to give police some information.
Once the victim is out of surgery, police plan to conduct a full interview.
The two suspects remain at large.
