A man accused of trying to kill someone faces up to 27 years behind bars.
Investigators say 22-year-old Keiyauve Gates shot another man once in the stomach and twice in the arm. The crime happened at West 16th and Chestnut streets on April 4th. In September, Gates pleaded guilty to attempted homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.
Today, the judge sentenced Gates to 13-27 years in State Prison.
