The summer season means it’s time for a favorite from the fields. Strawberries have officially hit the Mason Farms stands. John Mason says with the warm weather the area saw earlier this year, the strawberries are a little ahead of schedule.
“The strawberries themselves look plentiful,” says Mason, “I think we’re going to have a decent crop. It’s just how Mother Nature decides to ripen it and when it gets here… [is] up to her. We can only do so much.”
Mason says they have five of their locations open now, but will have all six open by the end of the week. The pick-your-own patches might open this weekend, depending on the weather, but most likely next week.
