Mayor Joe Schember says that the state’s Early Intervention Service will look at a lot more than outsourcing garbage pick-up.
The uproar started when it was publicized that in a speech to the Rotary Club yesterday, the mayor said the city’s garbage service could be outsourced in the future. But, the mayor says the advisors from Harrisburg are looking at everything before making suggestions.
“Right now, they’re gathering information. We’re giving them lots of paperwork. They’ll be coming in and doing interviews and then they will give us their recommendations.”
The city applied for and was granted the advisors through a program funded by the state budget.
