It’s Read Across America Week, a celebration of Dr. Seuss that brings out celebrity readers to schools all across the country.
Today, we caught up with Mayor Joe Schember reading a Seuss classic, ‘One Fish, Two Fish…’ to multi-handicapped students at the Elizabeth Lee Black School at the Barber National Institute.
Teachers say they enjoy this week every year, almost as much as the students. Julie Moore, Special Education Teacher, says, “we were lucky to get the mayor and he really put a personal touch to the Dr. Suess book just by being here and being very excited about reading”.
The mayor will read at three other schools this week.
