An Erie mayoral candidate shared his plans for the McBride Viaduct on Friday.
Alan Zimmer, who announced his mayoral candidacy in December, said on Friday that the reopening of the McBride Viaduct is one of his top priorities. Zimmer said he would like to see traffic to bicycle and pedestrian pathways open on the viaduct that closed in 2010 due to safety concerns.
“Instead of action of it they push it aside,” Zimmer said. “We need that road open, and they way I would do it would be just to do it.”
Zimmer said infrastructure and transpiration throughout the city needs improvement.
