Meadville bridge closed after driver fails to lower truck boom, causing damage

Local News

A driver in Crawford County fails to lower a truck boom, which lowered the boom on Meadville bridge.

Police tell us that shortly after 8:30 this morning, a Lincoln Recycling truck was leaving US Bronze and Steel and came to the bridge on Routes 6 and 19 in Meadville.  Police say the driver failed to lower the boom arm on the roll off truck.

The truck, then traveling north, came in contact with the bridge near Black Road.

The heavily-used bridge has been closed so crews can assess the damage the bridge suffered.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital for observation.
