A once dilapidated building is now back open for business. The news comes after many improvements were made following a fire in January which forced Meadville Library to close.
They had to demolish the old maintenance room and children’s room, then replace everything in it. Five years worth of improvements were done in just five months.
Executive Director John Brice tells us, “well, it feels really good. We’re home; it’s been since January 31st we have been homeless. We put up temporary location, but there’s nothing, like they say, ‘there’s no place like home,’ so we’re glad to be back open.”
The insurance damage from the fire to the building was $600,000.
