Today’s MLK march wrapped up in a fitting location; the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center. There, community leaders spoke to those in attendance about the progress that has been made and the work that still needs to be done.

James Sherrod, MLK Center Executive Director, tells us, “It symbolizes our understanding of why Dr. King gave his life and at the same time, let’s those young people begin to ask questions about Dr. King and why we have this ceremony and why we host all the activities in this honor.”
The director of the center says it’s important they take advantage of opportunities to teach today’s youth about the strides Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. made during his lifetime.
