Mental Health Assoc. hosts Wellness Connection Clinic for homeless individuals

Local News

A weekly clinic is helping connect Erie’s homeless individuals with the proper resources all in one place.  The Mental Health Association hosts a Wellness Connection Clinic at their downtown location.

Faith Community Nurses of Northwestern PA partnered with Erie United Methodist Alliance to add the health aspect to caring for the homeless.  The clinic is a holistic approach for these individuals.

Barbara Lewis, Registered Nurse & Faith Community Nurse, says, “We noticed that a lot of other communities are doing what they call a one-stop shop. It’s a drop in center where you have integrated services here. So, we’ve been slowly adding services.”

The clinic happens every Friday from 10 to 2.  Organizers are hoping to add more partners and expand the program in the future.
