2019 marks the fifth year for the annual Giving Day at Mercyhurst University. Students, staff, faculty and alumni all compete to see who can raise the most money in 24 hours. The big goal is to get to $50,000 to unlock a match held by trustees of the school. That potential $100,000 or more will be put into the school’s general fund. Caleb Pifer, Vice President for External Relations at Mercyhurst University says fundraisers like this help to keep tuition at Mercyhurst affordable. “People are really into it this year. Last year someone got a tattoo over it. So to say that people are behind it would be an understatement,” he adds.
