Merritt receives no jail time after pleading guilty in child pornography case

A man who pleaded guilty in a child pornography case will not face time in prison.

Carmen Merrit returned to the Erie County Courthouse for sentencing. He pleaded guilty to child pornography and corruption of minors.  

At that plea, the judge reduced his bond to $50,000 unrestricted under the condition that he has no contact with the victim and he stays off of social media. 

Today, the judge sentenced him to three years probation and 50 hours of community service.
