While some students aren’t packing up the backpacks just yet, Millcreek School District students head to the classrooms tomorrow morning.
Millcreek School District sees two big changes this year: a complete overhaul of the transportation system and the start times of the schools, including starting later in the high school.
The Superintendent, Bill Hall, saying the rerouting of transportation was about 30 years overdue, and there’s still kinks that need worked out. “We had a good year last year from a financial perspective. For us it’s about making sure that the transportation situation settles. We did do a complete rerouting. So I ask for the public to be patient with us.”
Hall says the summer projects are almost complete, but they’re ready for the 6900 students to return tomorrow. The School District also nearing completion on the new David P. Hanlon Community Sports Complex. The new complex includes a multi-purpose practice field, public walking track, and redoing the tennis courts and restrooms.
Hall hopes it will be open next month.
