Millcreek supervisors looking at ‘full plate’ for tomorrow’s meeting

Local News

Millcreek supervisors want to hear from the public about new developments in the works for the township.

On the agenda for Tuesday’s supervisors’ meeting is a public hearing to discuss new townhomes. The development plan will allow the construction of a five-building, 33-unit multi-family development.

That development will be located along the south line of West Ridge Road, west of McKee Road, where the old ‘Bennett’s Stop-n-Wash’ was located.

The plan includes associated parking and stormwater facilities, a topic that’s stirred much controversy in the past since that’s an area prone to flooding.

Supervisor John Groh says the new property should not be contributing any more stormwater to the stream that runs under Route 20. “Our stormwater regulations which are probably the strictest in Pennsylvania because of the problems we’ve had, make it that they’ve got to control their stormwater on their own property. To make sure it doesn’t flood other properties.”

Also on the agenda; a public discussion of the new Sonic Drive-in. The fast-food restaurant will be located at the site of the old Sears automotive shop outside the Millcreek Mall.  Groh says he doesn’t expect any problem in passing the plan.

The supervisors meeting is tomorrow night, starting at seven o’clock, at the Millcreek municipal building.
