Millcreek Township has saved some money because of the mild winter that we’ve had this year. So far the township only used 5,200 ton of salt from the 7,000 ton they had purchased for the entire year.
The township has saved more than $20,000 this year because of not having to give a huge amount of overtime to the staff.
“It’s amazing how much we’re down, I think like ninety inches this year,“ said Millcreek Township Supervisor John Groh.
The money saved this year will go to road repairs.
