More on 4th and Plum shooting…

Local News

Erie Police are reviewing surveillance video at the scene of a shooting that sent two men to the hospital with serious injuries.

Around 3am Saturday, police responded to a call in the area of West 4th and Plum streets.  Two victims with gunshot wounds were found near the intersection.  Investigators believe both the victims and the suspect were inside the Ultra View Lounge on West 4th Street just prior to the shooting.  This is the second shooting in connection with this bar.  On April 30th, a man was shot inside the lounge and later died from his injuries.

Erie’s Police Chief, Don Dacus, says the bar has been a problem after opening under out-of-town ownership.  “Since reopening, we’ve had numerous problems including the homicide and these two shot, so it’s at the top of our priority list to take care of this place.”

Both victims in the Saturday morning’s shooting remain at UPMC Hamot.

Police have yet to conduct any interviews.
