Multiple tavern break-ins may be linked to one suspect…

Local News

Erie and Pennsylvania State Police working together tonight, looking into similarities of two break-ins this week.  The most recent happening around 4:40 this morning at 21 Hampton Tavern, located on West 21st and Hampton Avenue in the city.

Police responding to an alarm activation.  On the scene, police find a door on the north side of the building smashed in and employees reporting another sign of forced entry on a second door.  Footprints outside the tavern lead police to believe the suspect jumped over a fence to flee the area.

Investigators believe the same individual could be responsible for a break-in at the American Legion in Fairview.  That happened around 1:45 this morning.  State Police in Girard released a surveillance photo.  They say a white male wearing a blue and white sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a bandana over his face opened a window to the legion, fleeing the scene after activating the alarm system.

Nothing was reported missing.  Anyone with information on any of the incidents is asked to call State Police or the Erie Police Department.
