An Erie County homicide case will be put on hold until the defendant receives a mental examination.

21-year-old Ferenc Sarkozy is charged with the death of a Summit Township motel clerk.  Investigators say Sarkozy beat the victim to death in July.  Now, his attorney is saying he may not be competent to stand trial.

The judge granted the defense’s motion to complete a mental competency evaluation before moving forward with the case.
