The Community Blood Bank unveiled its new Bloodmobile this morning, a mobile unit that will help bolster its blood supply.
The ribbon was cut for the new 38-foot mobile unit which will allow the Blood Bank to increase the number of opportunities to reach new and existing businesses and communities. The new Bloodmobile has more beds for donors and is larger than the old one.
“It’s important to upgrade to this one,” Community Blood Bank’s President and CEO, Scott Greenwell, tells us. “It’s larger, more modern and will allow us to get to more places and collect more blood.”
The old Bloodmobile will be donated to the Global Blood Fund, which has selected Mexico City to receive the vehicle.
