ERIE, Pa. — Erie’s newest code enforcement officer is working his way through the city’s bayfront neighborhoods.
In the past three months, Aaron Snippert has been evaluating homes on West Second, Third and Short streets, making his way to the east side of town.
Snippert is going house by house assessing everything from the roof to porches and steps. He said most violations consist of homes with chipping paint and vehicles parked on front lawns.
“Some of the homeowners that I’ve sent orders to correct to you see things getting done and other ones call and they have issues with what you’re asking them to do,” Snippert said.
Snippert even points homeowners in the direction of agencies that can help them fix the issues and ways to pay for the work.
