New community group Erie CPR meets for the first time

Erie CPR holds it’s first meeting Tuesday night.  Their goal is to bring the community’s voice into action starting first by explaining the city’s comprehensive plan. This plan was released and is raising awareness among community members. 
 
Erie CPR stands for “connect plus respect.” This group began with the folks passionate about saving the Mcbride Viaduct. Now the group is focusing it’s efforts on making the comprehensive plan understandable for  the community and working towards making Erie’s East side a better and more livable place.  
 
The discussion focusing on ways to combat the city’s job losses, decreases in children programing and how to eliminate the violence in the city. Residents attending the meeting expressing frustration with the way city officials are handling the comprehensive plan and some of the issues discussed. They say more focus needs to be on using the tax payers money to directly benefit the residents and improve the East side.
