New evidence from 1975 murder case

The Pennsylvania Superior Court has upheld one of the longest running murder convictions in Erie County History.  

The court refusing to overturn the life sentence of Raymond Payne, convicted of the 1975 murder of Debbie Gama.  This latest appeal based on DNA evidence found on the victim that did not match Payne; the court saying that was not enough evidence to grant a new trial.  

Assistant District Attorney, Michael Burns, tells us “It was the correct decision… he strangled her to death and that’s what matters.”
