New health insurance rates under the Affordable Care Act have been approved for Pennsylvania next year.
For the individual market, there will be a statewide insurance rate decrease of about 2.3%. Small group rates, however, will see an increase of 2.6%. State officials are also saying there will be more choices for Pennsylvanians next year.
PA Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman explains, “So, 30 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties will have more choices of insurance companies on the exchange for consumers this year. So, I’m really excited about that as well.”
Pennsylvania’s uninsured rate is at an all-time low at 2.5%.
