The Tom Ridge Environmental Center holds a special screening of a movie that gives viewers an intimate look into nature.
Backyard Wilderness premiering today at the TREC’s ‘Big Green Screen’. The movie explores the ecosystems surrounding our homes, including rare, up close views inside nests and dens of many of the creatures that live alongside humans. It’s meant to, among other things, encourage people to care more about how their actions affect nature.
Cindy Adams Dunn, Secretary for the Department of Conservation & Natural Resources, says, “There’s a lot of important things going on here. A lot of rare and endangered species, a lot of nature needs our help right now. We need cleaner water, cleaner air, we need to take care of our Great Lakes. And films like this really help.”
The movie’s premiere is hosted by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. You can catch Backyard Wilderness, now airing at the Tom Ridge Center.
