Erie Mayor Joe Schember introduces his new solicitor to staff today at his annual media conference.

Edward Betza was approved by Erie City Council tonight to work for the city on a contractual basis.  According to the mayor’s plan, Betza will be paid $125 an hour for services with an expected average of 20 hours per week. The mayor suggests this will save the city significantly over hiring another full-time solicitor.

There are still two full-time and one part-time attorneys working for the city on a daily basis.
