ERIE, Pa. — Although the weather in Erie has been mild, we all know winter is right around the corner and PennDOT is prepping for the snow.

PennDOT officials announced that all 2,200 snowplow trucks will have AVL technology this winter. The technology will allow the public to track snowplows online.

The website will also have a complete guide of winter information services.

More than $200 million has been budgeted for statewide operations and PennDOT has more than 760,000 tons of salt on hand across the state.

PennDOT is also advising drivers to slow down during icy conditions and keep an emergency kit in your car.
