No injuries reported following liquid nitrogen leak at Modern Industries

Drivers were met with an unusual cloud of smoke on West 12th Street and Cherry last night. This coming after a liquid nitrogen tank leak at Modern Industries. 

According to officials, the leak has been contained and emergency crews have left the scene at West 12th and Cherry streets. The Erie Fire Department Deputy Chief saying the nitrogen was non-hazardous and no one in the area is in danger.

They say it took a while to stop the leak since the tank was half full. 

No evacuations from the building were necessary.  

The Erie Fire Department is still investigating what caused the leak.
