At least 50 protesters were arrested today after Catholic sisters from across the country protest at Capitol Hill.
Protesters gathered outside the Russell Senate Office Building this morning to demand a Clean Dream Act without any further delay. The protesters urging House Speaker Paul Ryan and other Catholic lawmakers to embrace the principles of Catholic social teaching, one priest saying about the dreamers, “They are contributing to the society in many ways. They are studying, they are working… They are building a better nation. They are even serving in the military. They are doing many things to build up our nation.”
The protesters are pushing for the protection of more than 800,000 immigrants from deportation.
