A deadly Memorial Day RV crash claims the life of one person. The RV that was  traveling north bound on Interstate 79 crashed into a ditch.  This happened just after  after 5p.m. Monday between the McKean and Edinboro exits, near mile marker 171.  The RV was severely damaged, a  tree crushed the driver’s side. 

Pennsylvania State Police in Girard identify the driver as Malcom Beauchamp, 70, of Northport, New York; he was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Suzanne Beauchamp, was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment of moderate injuries. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

According to police the front tire on the driver’s side of the 2004 Winnebago blew out, causing the driver to lose control.  Heavy Memorial Day  traffic was restricted to one lane. Three dogs  were inside of the motor home. Two of them escaped unharmed, the third is still missing.
