One suspect caught, more on the loose in Jareds jewelry robbery

29-year-old Roderick Brown of Detroit was arraigned today in connection with the Jared jewelry heist last night.

According to State Police in Girard, the robbery occurred around 9pm at Jared jewelry store on Interchange Road.  Soon after police arrived, a chase began as the suspects tried to escape, heading west along I-90 inside a van reported stolen from Detroit.

After crashing the van near the East Springfield exit, the suspects fled on foot.  Police are continuing their search for at least one other suspect.

Brown was arraigned this morning for  Robbery, Conspiracy, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and Retail Theft.  His bail was set at $250,000 which he was unable to post and is being held at Erie County Prison.
