The decision to move opening day of rifle deer season this year will remain for now.
The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners deciding to move opening day from the Monday after Thanksgiving to Saturday. While some hunters are in favor of the decision others voiced their concerns. Those concerns prompting the Game Commission to meet with state House of Representatives Game and Fisheries Committee to revisit the decision.
Opening day will remain on Saturday for the 2019 season, but the commission will look at this year’s benefits and drawbacks to determine if opening season will return to its original date.
