ERIE, Pa. — The United Way Erie Free Taxes campaign kicked off this week.
The United Way of Erie County’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is being offered at more than 20 locations across northwestern Pennsylvania.
All volunteer tax preparers are certified by the IRS, according to the foundation.
Taxpayers with 2016 incomes of less than $54,000 are eligible for free federal, state and local in-person tax preparation.
Individuals earning $64,000 or less can complete their federal and state tax returns online free of charge.
