Organizers of playground construction need volunteers for project in Greene Township

Local News

Construction is underway for a new community asset in Greene Township.

Community members and elected officials are working together to build a new playground in Greene Township at 9333 Tate Road.  The playground will be in the same spot as one built more than 20 years ago which was later knocked down.

The volunteers are working from 8am until 9:30pm for the rest of the week and into the weekend.   And, organizers say, they’re looking for volunteers through Sunday!

Steven O’Donnell, Build Captain, says, “It’s unique. It’s a large structure. It’s three stories. It has two different areas. One for the older kids, one for the little kids and then beyond that this was a thing that was treasured by the community. The original, called Playground Paradise, was here for 20 years and when it went down it was kinda sad but it’s kinda neat seeing it come back to life.”

The playground is expected to be open for use by August.
